Melanie Dresch, Esq.

Hello, I’m happy you’re here!

I’m Melanie. I’m an Ohio native; I grew up in a suburb of Cleveland. I received my undergraduate degree from The College of Wooster and my law degree from Cleveland State University College of Law. I’m licensed to practice in Ohio.

I became a mother in 2020 at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. My husband and I found out our son has spina bifida early in our pregnancy. We were fortunate enough to have access to a medical procedure which would prevent further nerve damage and give our son an opportunity to heal prior to birth.

I can’t properly tell you how frightening that experience was, but we were just grateful we had the option.

To the parents out there that have ever been given the news that their child’s health is compromised, I understand that pain. Raising a child with special needs or chronic health issues is hard to describe, partly because it varies so widely. We were fortunate; other families are luckier. Some are not.

We all got through those early chaotic days when we weren’t sure what to expect. Truly, the harder part was learning how to continue. Our son’s treatment has changed a lot over time and we as parents have had to try to stay a step ahead of it the whole way.

Part of what gives me and my husband peace throughout our parenting journey is knowing we have an estate plan in place that will protect our son if something unthinkable happens.

My goal for Dresch Law LLC ultimately is to serve families like mine, who are just trying to take care of their loved ones.
